  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: One of the sections of the new Metro Line 9 of Barcelona. The work took about three years. During these three years our staff has completed various types of foundations formworks, diaphragm walls, girts, upper slabs and part of the urbanization.

The project consisted of the construction of 11.5 km of tunnels, 17 stations and 2 ventilation shafts. The tunnels were excavated using the mechanical-prospective tunneling method (TPM), which consists of excavating an advance tunnel with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) and building a reinforced concrete tunnel behind the TBM.

  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: For the construction of Lleida-Alguaire airport, our staff has carried out the construction of the airplane platforms, drainages , rain water networks, electrical networks, urbanizations and a parking for vehicles.

– Vertical and horizontal waterproofing with bitumen emulsion

Terrassa Tunnel

  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: Execution of concrete prism during 8 km, 4 train stations and the coverage of these.

  • Other relevant information:

The project consisted of the construction of a 2.5 km long tunnel linking the center of Terrassa with the C-58 road. The tunnel was excavated using the mechanical-prospective tunneling method (TPM), which consists of excavating an advance gallery with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) and building a reinforced concrete gallery behind the TBM.

A27 Valls Highway

  • Construction year: 2014 – 2015
  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: It consisted of the construction of a new 13.6 km long section of highway linking the municipality of Valls with Montblanc.
  • Location: VALLS
  • Other relevant information:

The work involved the construction of two roadways with two lanes in each direction, separated by a 2.5 m central shoulder. The section also includes two viaducts, one 300 m long and the other 150 m long, and a 1.5 km long tunnel.

Súria Tunnel

  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: Execution of formworks and concrete pouring in the walls and ramps at the entry to the Iberpotash mine in Súria.

The work consisted of the construction of a 2.5 km long tunnel linking the C-25 road with the C-16 road. The tunnel was excavated using the mechanical-prospective tunneling method (TPM), which consists of excavating an advance tunnel with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) and building a reinforced concrete tunnel behind the TBM.

Sabadell Tunnel

The project consisted of the construction of a 2.5 km long tunnel linking the center of Sabadell with the Can Parellada industrial park. The tunnel was excavated using the mechanical-prospective tunneling method (TPM), which consists of excavating an advance gallery with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) and building a reinforced concrete gallery behind the TBM.

The work consisted of the construction of a 2.5 km long tunnel linking the C-14 road with the N-240 road. The tunnel was excavated using the mechanical-prospective tunneling method (TPM), which consists of excavating an advance gallery with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) and building a reinforced concrete gallery behind the TBM.

Son Reus roundabout

  • Construction year: 2015 – 2016
  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: Execution of underpasses and urbanization works around the roundabout.
  • Location: Mallorca
  • Other relevant information:

The work consisted of the construction of a new 30-meter diameter roundabout, which replaces a traffic-light-regulated intersection. The roundabout was built with reinforced concrete and has a gravel and asphalt base.

El Portillo tunnel and station platform

  • Construction companies: Ferrovial Agromán S.A., Ocinsa Obras y Construcciones, S.A., in a temporary joint venture (UTE)
  • Construction year: 2007
  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: Underground station attached to the layout of the current tunnel that crosses Zaragoza and connected to it. It consists of a prism-shaped surface building measuring 22m x 21m x 7.20 high. Attached to this other 14x14m prism. It has a central platform and two parking lanes on both sides. Various formwork works were also carried out in the tunnel and other miscellaneous works.
  • Location: Calatayud, Zaragoza, Spain.
  • Other relevant information:

– The “El Portillo” Tunnel and stop is a civil engineering work that consists of the construction of a 250-meter-long tunnel and a stop on the Madrid-Zaragoza high-speed line.

– The work was awarded to the Ferrovial-Agroman-Ocinsa joint venture for an amount of 20 million euros.

– The construction of the tunnel was carried out with a rock tunnel boring machine, with a simple shield and manufactured in Germany by the Herrenknecht company.

– The excavation diameter is 8,600 mm and the useful section is 52.28 m².

– The tunnel lining was carried out using prefabricated segments 370 mm thick and 1,600 mm long.

– The “El Portillo” halt is located in the municipality of Calatayud, in the province of Zaragoza.

– The tunnel and halt were put into service in 2008.

  • Work carried out by GRUPO COPUNO: Our staff participated in the construction of Vielha tunnel (also called Juan Carlos I Tunnel) of 5320 m long and with 3 traffic lanes.
  • Location: Vielha (Lleida)

– Drainage network with connections to gutters

– Guttering layout and drains landfill

– Execution of embankment slopes in the accesses area, including lay out of cross headings and broken bricks

– Lay out of roughened coating on the walls of the car park accesses

– Completion of the underground network for the passage of medium voltage and communication cables

– Lay out of manholes (1x1x1m) for communication networks

– Dismantling of existing guardrail

– Underground network for lighting cables
